This little boat,
having weathered a violent storm,
bobs on the gentle, glassy swell.
Sails still furled,
she is drifting languidly
with the current
to nowhere in particular.
Your words really give the impression of a peaceful voyage and the sounds are lovely to read aloud. The sounds of the second line are hard and harsh like a real storm and the third line bounces as you say it like the boat is really bobbing. I really like it and I'm glad your voyage that day was calm and relaxed.

Through your word choice and the impression I received, this poem saddened me.
I quite enjoyed it; I feel that at one time, I could relate to this little boat which suffered the wake of the storm and with no destination ahead.
Thank you.

I, for one, am grateful for the times after the storms have passed. I'm pleased the poem spoke to you and that it gave you enjoyment.

I can picture observing this as it all unfolds. Violence replaced with stillness, and the little boat just gets on with what's thrown at it. Or maybe she is waiting, ready for the next challenge.

Yar, the little boat was pretty chilled when I wrote this. Who knows what the weather will being?
