Shrink

Shrink

A Poem by Zugzwang

When I told my Psychiatrist

about my poems,

he sat bolt upright

in his chair

and started

scribbling

furiously.

it was then

that I knew

I was really onto something.

Well written humor - a very nice little tale. The first time I misread it, thinking that the psychiatrist was the writer. It gave the whole poem in interesting little twist, I think, and an insight into how the only cure for writers block is self-perscribed.

It's curious how mistakes can be beautiful.

Funny and intriguing. Brings to mind a private detective who finds a clue.

Well done.

Welome to my world. Glad you enjoyed it!
Ha, good one! Very humorous, as the start is sounds serious but u love the joking tone you convey. It's also relatable, as a few years ago I wrote a very dark poem and shared it in a school poetry group, the next week I was in talking to my year teacher...

Oh... This made me belly laugh loads... Thank you ;-) A succinct use of wording & wonderful narrative of observation... Brings to mind a wee funny... 'I used to be a Psychiatrist - But I'm alright now' -boom, boom!!! No offence intended - used to work in that field - many moons ago & observed a lot...

Poetry is the best therapy. Keep writing and exorcise all your demons. Then you can stop and look around you and smile.

Thanks! I appreciate it!
And just think of the money you could have saved. I love the idea of a panicked psychiatrist. I don't know quite why, but I find it hilarious. Wise words Zeitnot
