EnoggeraA Poem by ZugzwangInspired by a trail run.On the run to Enoggera today I saw the hills first. The first line, hulking dark green out of the dessicated eucalypt forest, but the second line, straddling the horizon, were a misty blue; air hazy with suspended eucalypt oil.
When I got to the reservoir, I had to stop and stare. Blue on blue sky, and steep dark hills, reflected in shimmering waters- green-rimmed with lush grasses and expanses of lillies all over. And the birds!-Everywhere. All along that reservoir trail cockatoos screeched like demented things, or hungry velociraptors, prowling a Jurassic jungle, just out of sight.
