The Promise

The Promise

A Poem by Zugzwang

The frog’s call,

Grasshopper’s whir,

And the ‘Chi chi chi!’

Of the gecko

Weave a tapestry

Of sound

That permeates

The still evening air.

In the silent voice

Of the seasons

A promise is uttered:

“Summer is coming”

“Summer is coming”.

"The Promise"
Zugzwang,
Each season has it's own particular charm and individuality. As summer approaches Spring becomes a place of softness awaiting the warmth needed for crops to grow and life to re-energize.
The song is given.
Beautiful poem!
Blessings to you.

Really enjoyed this poem - capturing natures moments is a joy & this one does for me. Thanks for your review of Ode to the Oyster Catcher - glad you liked it. I'm new to this online posting of writing so really appreciated my first review. Best wishes to you.
Ps not sure about the rating part of things as yet - don't think I can put a % on something I enjoy :-)
