The cries of my soul

The cries of my soul

A Poem by zeg67
"

Young boy found lying face-down on a beach near Turkish resort of Bodrum was one of at least 12 Syrians who drowned attempting to reach Greece. (Web)

"

I saw a boy

Sleeping

Motionlessly

On a seashore.

He never guessed

He would come from

Aleppo

To die

On the golden sands of the Old

Old Land

His Dad, heart broken into

A thousand nights and night

His soul shattered like

Breaking pebbles

Falling from cliffs

Of prickly nonsense

I cried

No one heard my crying tears

Imprisoned

Within my ears

I cried again

I begged the crescent

To send his mercy on

The tender body

Of this little teddy.

Homage to the Syrian boy who drowned on a beach near Turkish resort of Bodrum  .
