Generic Angst

Generic Angst

A Poem by ZeeArsonist

all that you've "just done before"

and God are you tired
    of required capitalizations
the slew of endless, unoriginal thoughts.
not getting any better, getting worse? anywhere at all.

predictable dirty dishes just
f*****g look at me from the sink
chicken-scratch-to-do list that i'm always
getting around to.

i retreat to blankets, oversized hoodies,
trying to feel small. eyes tighter
as if that might help any of this along
but i can't force sleep anymore than i could cheat death
failure.

want is to desire as need is to exist
when really all i want is
simple.
