The Light Outside

All she wanted to do was show the world she could do anything and become anybody; to feel the love and respect that should naturally come with the territory, but her dreams fell short. Some would go as far as to say she sabotaged herself, but she would never have believed it; finding it more attainable to blame the outside for her destructive inside. Now her bones lie cold and wet as her body slowly continues to become one with nature.

And so it sometimes goes. It's a great mystery to me how some can go into the world with great gusto and confidence, achieving their heart's desire, while others crash and burn right after takeoff. You write quite well.
