Our planet, maybe ....
My take on a story told to me by my native American ancestors
Honor the Earth and respect her.
Did your parents tell you it was a gift for you to do with it as you will ? .
No, its been entrusted to you
by your children.
We didn't inherit this Earth.
We only borrow it ,
from our Children.
Do keep in mind who you are hurting.
If you are not doing the right things for our planet.
When you were born, you cried,
and the world rejoiced.
Live your life and Love as you would be loved.
Then simply thank God for giving you everything that you need.
He will hear your talk.
He will do as you ask..
You will have peace.
So that when you die,
The world will cry and you'll rejoice.
This message is a good one, much needed in our world. No wonder I relate to your writing. I'm very interested in honoring the planet & nature, as well as native spirituality (altho I'm not native myself). Even tho I love everything you're saying in this poem, it does feel like the message is a bit scattered. It starts out being about respecting the planet, but then it morphs into more generalized statements about living a good life. It's almost like 2 separate messages. Good messages, good writing, but not such a tight package, all put together.

I literally don't edit it. Now, I will, I'm better after its sat for awhile than complicating the write. Just a weird thing about me. I am Apache. Direct descendant of Geronimo. Tribal Medicine Man with a Japanese soul, LOL. Thank you, my friend, I pay attention to your words. They are respected and appreciated.

Your piece wouldn't require editing, it's good as is. I understand what you mean about letting a pie.. read moreYour piece wouldn't require editing, it's good as is. I understand what you mean about letting a piece sit for awhile, before you start hacking it up! Sometimes we just need to accept it the way the muse sends it!
