There's fire in her eyes

There's fire in her eyes

A Poem by Lamenting Illinguist
"

Inspiration from a picture of love

"
I fell in love with your crystalline eyes
The delicate curve of your subtle smile
Your sun-kissed freckles sear into my soul
As your milky skin exudes soothing cool
I want to know your name
I want to sing it praise
I want to revel in your presence
And let you reconfirm my faith

Not faith in god, or man but love
Cause all that's up is sky or ceiling
But inside my heart's cold darkness
Your light has broken through to feeling
I want to feel your warmth of touch
While your wordsmith tongue tickles 'pon my drums
As your words give way to meaning
I'll bask in pleasure of your voice's tone

I'd love the magic that could make you mine
On quest for love I'll sally forth
Then when lost upon the tides of time
In my heart's compass you'll be my North
And armies vast as desert sands
Could intercede in my homecoming
But there's no force upon this earth
To stop my heart from overcoming
I could die a hundred thousand times
And still I'd make it to your hand
If chance allows my words to sound
Then your heart too can make a stand

For inspiration's sake and love I beg
Look past the dust of age and bend
Ignore the numbers that vilify
Dubbed; Match, enemy and friend
For even if these numbers bear some truth
We'll never know if not for trying
And I can't promise kindred spirits fire
But I'm throwing matches on my hearts kindling

Okay the first line of your poem was absolutely beautiful! The rest just got better. Your vocabulary is stunning and the way you used your voice (which is weird but I just don't know how to put it) was amazing. I hope to hear a ton more from you! Wonderful writing!
