Smiles and happy days should always come first as to give the soul to the wrong person could be fatal- our heart and soul are the depth of our being and need to be cherished and handled with care- wise words🌹
I see what you mean and it makes sense but people want love and it we don't always fall in love with the right person. There are two quotes I think apply to this poem "Don't wear your heart on your sleeve.', and the quote from Albert Einstein, "Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love." We don't choose to fall in love, we don't simply wake up one day and say I will be in love with (insert name here). It is our "heart" or brain that makes that decision even if we don't want that to happen. Good job!
I learned something about how to be with someone and keep your identity. Too often we assimilate to what others expect. All we can really give are our actions, not what makes us ourselves. Great read!
Great questions were asked. Old Grandpa asking. "You are lucky. You have traveled, saw war and loved many woman. In old age, you will appreciate every memory." I liked this poem. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

I would willingly give my heart to the right person, but not my soul. That would be the kiss of death. But being generous with smiles, is fine. And I do agree with you, life without love is not the sort of life I would like. Can't think how sad it would be not to be loved by anyone. Nice little poem. long live love.
