Fighter

Fighter

A Poem by Rochelle
"

Thanks for making me fighter.

"

You built the bridge as I burned it down,

The pain you coursed can’t hurt me now,

The silent screams,

The bright shadows,

The warmth that now feels so cold,

I trusted you with the one thing I hold most,

You took my innocence away,

My sheltered childhood shatters in your hands,

The tears I cried are the river.

You are the bridge.

I am the flame that burns through the fear.

Now you will drown in the tears I cried over you,

Bitter sweet,

Now all I have is the painful memories,

But I have to thank you for making me this much stronger,

This much wiser,

Now my flame will burn brighter,

Thanks for making me fighter.

there are mixed feelings of pain, regret, broken trust, agony but being strong enough to write about it and with the positive ending you summed up very well ..many can relate.
thanks 4 sharing :)!
