Rejected love

The pain never leaves you, but living in the past can kill you.

I know how it feels to be rejected by the one you love, your heart shatters into millions of tiny specks of dust. You look at them one last time hoping to change there mind but reality is not kind. He tells you "lets stay friends" and that he'll always be there for you but still he never considered what was running through your mind.

 

You slowly walk away but tears replace the smiles you shared with him. All you really want was him, to call you beautiful and hug you tightly, kiss you goodnight and hold your hand on the way home. You close your eyes, thinking of all the times you were together, but now your apart. You wonder "would he come after me, if I ran away?" but he loves her and she is perfect compared to you.

 

 You scream "when will this pain end" but you know it never will. "Nobody needs me" you mumble to yourself but your wrong, without you life would not be the same, people do love you but you never listen. Time passes and unlike him you can't forget, after all you love him more than the air you breath, so one day you just stop and the painful life you lived is no more……..you are…….no more.

This was beautiful. It sadness me that I can so closely relate to this short story. Even though it's been such a long time since our friendship I still sometimes wonder "what if?" He has a new girlfriend and I'm happy for him, but I guess a first love never truly dies. Beautiful words!
