A Poem by Zatoichi
"

fun with rhyme

"

Playing solitaire

into the night

wonder one might

what does he ponder

as his fingers wander over the keys?

Does he consider as he clicks

the different ways that we might fix

the devastation, as a nation,

we have wrought upon the Earth?

Or does he cogitate the cost

of pork bellies, or the worth of an ounce of gold?

Has he grown cold to the cries of those without

and within beats not a heart, but computer code. Methinks

He thinks of poetry and art,

and, fleeing from the futile,

finds his heart

seeking solace in

an electronic deck of cards.

is that a magic hat? you keep pulling out all these wonderful poems that say they were posted a year ago . . . how do you do that?

It's a stunning portrait. One fit for an electronic age. Information is at our fingertips, but do we use it to full advantage?

Wonderful! I love the message in this. Very powerful. I also like how someone can turn something so simple into something so..huge and..thoughtful.

Great job,
Lauren
