The Flight

The Flight

A Poem by Shadow Walker

Engine revs black wings spread shinning like ice in the middle of the night

Flying down the road riding on updrafts and thermals in speeds that exceed 130

Bank left then right then spin in mid flight with wings tucked tight I come at you like a hawk in a death dive

You snatch a glance as I swoop right on passed then disappear into the night leaving you in fright

I fade with the sunrise morphing into you guys just another spec in the anthill of normal life

Till the night shows it’s face and I come out of the rat race to fly the black line and continue the mad flight
