The Farmhouse is a poem about the situation of a farm community before, during and after the Liberation War of Bangladesh.
The farmhouse is lively in the serene December,
The music of the victory is humming everywhere.
The farmer feels no fatigue in arranging the festival,
Disappeared all troubles and blood freezing fear.
It was a very hard time just the other day,
The demons plundered the paddy of the farm.
Hundreds of the farmers’ sons lost their lives,
Housewives embraced death of honor to resist harm.
The farmhouse turned elated with joy once again,
Million names, blood and sweat are now events of the past.
Hills of golden paddy swelled up in the farmyard,
Jubilant butterflies and swans move around fast.
Farmer’s innocent son sits at the grave of his mother,
And weeps fearlessly placing fresh flowers in her honor.
A short but intricate poem of the ugly survival and a lost ones grave shadowed by the beauty of the land absorbing the horror and simple flowers.
I can not write or review poems worth a darn. Everyone interprets them a little differently from each other but I know you use your words well to paint a picture.

Thank you, friendship, goodwill and sincerity are priceless to me.
Oh, Zainul. This brought tears to my eyes. Seeing war come and go and what it does to the people. That farmer's son, he did me in.

The price we have to pay for freedom is high but so do the rewards. I love how you paint a picture of a farm but it is about the whole nation which is a great metaphor for it. The ending is sad but true for it happened in so many revolutions paid with blood and sweat...Excellent Zainul...:)
Going in my faves...:)

I feel very pleased to read your admiring review.
Your lovely words always soothe my heart.
A sad historical journey through your eyes, is so educational to me and brings home to me so much happens around the world that the world hears about, but for some reason gets missed in the importance of everything else. It wasn't unimportant to those farmers. It was their defining moment and you told their story well, my friend.
