Little Boy

Little Boy

A Poem by zainul
"

Hiroshima was turned to a hell on 06 August 1945 by the atom bomb,Little Boy

"
Little Boy was a clever name
He played a merciless and fiery game

People of Hiroshima melted like snow
Little Boy displayed his atomic glow

Warmongers are not happy with death
They feed Little Boy to appease wrath

I believe that was not once, but twice... May be you should do a follow up with the other A-bomb and have a duet piece to this write... There's nothing fair about war... both sides lose... and we say the Holocaust was bad... did the US of A... not do the same to the Japanese people... but all at once... I know the reason was to stop the war quick and have no more casualties... really had to drop 2 of them to show the world not once, but twice...

and now we tell the world... we will not use them on anyone unless used on us... A little hypocritical... but that's war... I know my people (Philippines) were captured by the Japanese during the time... and I'm glad to have my freedoms... let's look at the future and hope no one use the weapon on the us... just for history repeating itself... like it always does...

Yes, but I had to read it three times before I really understood something of how you feel. I would not think that there are many alive today that would not agree with you. In war, there are no winners, and in nuclear war there is no end. When the bombs have finished exploding, the radio-activity continues for many generations, and the excuses for using the devices are forgotten, until finally there is no life, just existance...of some kind. I try not to think of it.
Your words are so full of sentiment and care. It hits the nail right on the head. Thanks for sharing this.
PS: We should think and write about Syria and the suffering there as well. Chemical warfare can be just as horrific.

Wow - so much impact in this piece. A bit of history, and an important lesson about the craziness of war as well... Great write, Zainul!

Brilliantly written. The power of the poem lies in its simplicity.

A very powerful and conscience -driven poem. There is a big debate about it with sensitivity on all sides. I know you are doing it from a compassionate heart not to be political or judgemental...A very good poem Zainul...:)

Short but very deep and sensitive subject. Extremely well written to be able to convey that amount of emotions is a short poem.
