Little Boy

Little Boy

A Poem by zainul
"

Hiroshima was turned to a hell on 06 August 1945 by the atom bomb,Little Boy

"
Little Boy was a clever name
He played a merciless and fiery game

People of Hiroshima melted like snow
Little Boy displayed his atomic glow

Warmongers are not happy with death
They feed Little Boy to appease wrath

I believe that was not once, but twice... May be you should do a follow up with the other A-bomb and have a duet piece to this write... There's nothing fair about war... both sides lose... and we say the Holocaust was bad... did the US of A... not do the same to the Japanese people... but all at once... I know the reason was to stop the war quick and have no more casualties... really had to drop 2 of them to show the world not once, but twice...

and now we tell the world... we will not use them on anyone unless used on us... A little hypocritical... but that's war... I know my people (Philippines) were captured by the Japanese during the time... and I'm glad to have my freedoms... let's look at the future and hope no one use the weapon on the us... just for history repeating itself... like it always does...

No one should have this type of power. That Little Boy made a big splash in a small pond. This piece is a great light on a dark subject.

Thank you Monalisa for the admiring review.

Your poem is horribly meaningful for all the citizens of this planet, zainul. The ongoing threat of nuclear destruction should haunt our dreams more than it seems to - perhaps because we have grown used to it and know there's nothing we as individuals can do to change the situation. Does the world need another Hiroshima or Nagasake to make it wake up to the danger? Let's all pray that doesn't happen. Thanks for reawakening me and all your readers to this horrendous situation.

Another profound poem. Yes war is horrible and never actually solves much, well, not for long. What really makes me feel sick is the names they give to their weapons! As if it was all a game!

Having visited the peace museum, and lived just out side of Hiroshima for eight months, this is a write very close to me. A moment of great tragedy for the human race. Anyone who can, should visit that museum. In the face of such ravage, it delivers a message of true peace. Thank you, Zainul, for writing this poem. And RR me you stuff, please. I would have hated to have missed this one.
