Chilli

A seed of chilli fruit grew up as an amazing plant

My garden has a new guest
It has seized our normal rest

It is a wonderful chilli plant
Sprouting from a seed it grew so smart

Saw a tiny green baby in the pot
Then magics happened on the spot

Branches came as quick surprise
Green leaves reached full size

Cleaned the weeds by manual toil
Supplied manures to the barren soil

Leaves glittered as we sprayed water
Applied some egg shell powder

Checked the plant for any bug
Sunshine and air gave their hug

Small buds peeped on the stems
They formed flowers like white gems

Suddenly we saw a chilly fruit
It hang among leaves and shoot

The chilli plant is a great treasure
We immensely enjoy  divine pleasure

cute poem zainul...this reminds me of my tomato plants...the squirrels were eating them so my son said to put cayenne pepper on them so I did...he said the squirrels wouldnt eat them...but I got up the next morning and my tomatoes were all gone...they loved the cayenne pepper.. ha..

I can't live without a little bit of chilli.
but,I fear very hot ones.
I have to run for sugar,honey or water if very hot chilli is taken by chance.

No no no, water is the worst, it just spreads the oils on your tongue, it has to be milk or better yet ice cream, that will mellow the burn, and my pleasure.

The hottest chili in the world, Bhut Jolokia, or ghost pepper as they call it, they have some funny youtube videos, people are crazy, they all drink milk afterwards, it comes in handy....it measure 1 million on the scoville scale, where a jalapeno is only around 8,000...

In my part of the country the preference for jalapeno peppers is widespread. The hottest chillies I know are the chili patines, which no one (except my father) has ever been able to eat without downing a gallon of water...

It's just a method to measure the heat of a chili but I copied this, which explains it better than I could...
In Scoville's method, a measured amount of alcohol extract of the capsaicin oil of the dried pepper is produced, after which a solution of sugar and water is added incrementally until the "heat" is just barely detectable by a panel of (usually five) tasters; the degree of dilution gives its measure on the Scoville scale.
