Whoa!!!…this is one of my favourite by you…so powerful with its rhytm and the diction…really awesome…I sorely liked the very first line…it just took me so fast…thanks for sharing it with us…it is impeccable!!!
This is so powerful :O
Excellent penning!
"The killers shot bullets to stop voice
They could not think its reaction
The young activists had no choice
They fought bravely to honor passion"
Brilliant and powerful work!

Very nice of you that you reviewed the piece with such lovely words.
There are so many things throughout the world that we either miss or forget. Yet, the importance within a given area is still of great importance to those in that area.
Again my friend, your lovely thought here reminds me of the differences and the sameness we all feel and share.

You have strongly pointed out that every one has right to speak in whatever language one wishes to.Thus, you have supported the spirit of International Mother Language Day (IMLD) envisaged by UNESCO.

I could feel the emotions and the deep tradition here. The poetry was well constructed and I enjoyed the two lines that punctuated the ending. I must take issue with the line, "The young activists had no choice". It is a cultural norm to give in to the mob mentality and to ride the wave of public passions. This is taught and trained intot he blood and it does become reactionary. Yet it is still a choice. A choice to teach this way of thinking and responding in violence and also a choice to become a part of the violence. Yes, we do need to "fight" for human rights and cultural respect. Still, that fight need not be violent as often as it is.
I enjoyed reading this poetry as it is a great look into the mind and emotions of a culture. Well penned.

I just want to add the information that Bangladesh is the only sovereign state in the world that emerged on the basis of language,a facet of culture. The journey of the independence of Bangladesh in 1971 actually started with the shooting on the activists of the Language Movement in 1952.
When we move around the world we loose our mother tongue , the next generation adopts the mother tongue of the country we live in, sad . Lovely write .
