Letter

Keeping letters is my passion

The letters are there in my bag
I kept them with care for long
Sometimes I take one from the pack
To hear the passionate song

The letters are pretty old
But,still now they look new
To me they are precious than gold
For they present magical view


When I glance at a  letter
I can see a lovely face
I can hear the friendly chatter
I can feel the fabulous grace

Once flood entered our shabby home
It caused great havoc for me
Files of my poems faced doom
But,the letters were saved miraculously

I can't think of parting with any letter
It's really a priceless treasure
I can't explain the secret of the matter
Why a letter  gives immense pleasure

Wow. I love this so much!!
No one writes letters anything that much anymore. Most of our young people's generation revolve around phones and computers. I can say this because I know that I use my phone a lot and prefer calling or texting - it's quicker.

Yes,we are losing the practice of writing,reading and preserving manually written letters as the technologies are replacing them.
My poem is a proof of manual letter which will remind peoples of the future about hand written letters.

I've fallen i love just once till now and we had this journal sort of a thing where every detail of how we first met, our conversations, the best timewe had were recorded by the both of us. I have it with me. I thought of burnin it (yeah i can be pretty scary sometimes) but i didnt because i just treasure him too damn much!! I read it sometimes,we're not together anymore but it does make me smile that somehow someone came along and found me worthy to love even if it lasted a while.

Do you think electronic letters,termed e-mail give any equivalent pleasure of hand written letters?
We have, however, sensational collection of e-mails that are occasionally leaked by Wiki-leaks to stun the world!

Not at all, where's the love, where's the passion, you can't post it in an e-mail. There's the way someone eloquently pens on paper, the feel of it, just the smell of paper, what they choose, it's all blissful, can't get that feeling online. Who could take a love e-mail to heart? I want to hold something in my hand to cherish.

Lovely thoughts, sir. I too, have several letters stored safely away. Some are becoming quite faded in time... but still mean as much to me now as they did then.

Another beautiful poem sir. Letters give that pleasure because in this age no one thinks of writing something with their own hands for someone. A hand written note means so much more in terms of personal touch and attention... You have written it so well too..bringing out just the right feeling.

I love letters. There is something so insanely enthralling about receiving one! This poem, I have found, captures all the greatness of a letter. :)

My favorite stanza was the third: "When I glance at a letter/ I can see a lovely face/ I can hear the friendly chatter/ I can feel the fabulous grace." I LOVE the flow of it, the way it rolls to easily and care freely off the tongue.

I feel very blessed that finally a poem of mine became your favorite.
I understand that keeping cards and letters is a passion of most people.
They bring back so many memories, feelings and emotions.
I like hear some interesting stories about cards and letters.
I suppose that everybody has important stories regarding cards and letters.But,all of them can't be shared.Some personal stories are kept confidential throughout the life while others are shared in various manners.

I've never been a letter writer myself, nor recieved many. I have card my second husband gave me that still makes me cry...I never look at it...

I also did not receive many letters.
But,I tried to preserve some of the letters which could be saved from various problems like flood,rain,rat,termite and others.
I will let you know later which letters make me very emotional.
