Like those "crazy youngsters" in the roaring twenties doing the Charleston. Silly teens and that wild rock-n-roll. Chubby Checker and the twist. And now, the Gangnam Style.
Every younger generation has had something... at least, for a while.
Very progressive thinking on your part with this introduction, Zainul.

You have wonderfully pointed out that every younger generation has had something... at least, for a while.
Let's also hear from the members of the younger generation to learn how do they feel about the elements of the past, present and future.
I feel very inspired by your wonderful review.
I would be interested in their viewpoints, as well, Zainul.

But to be honest, after so many people began dancing to it and got involved, I enjoyed their concept of uniting to dance freely then the general song. I love how the Gangnam style shows free spirit. During a pep rally, 1/4 of my school ran down the stands to join the dance team in their version of Gangnam style, it was remarkable!
I love this! I like that you wrote about this because it is new and very creative! This a different theme than many other poems I have read!

I am so glad i came up on your poem! Seriously someone should do a survey online by voting method to know if the Gangnam style 'lovers' even have an inkling about the lyrics meaning.
I didn't feel like listening to the song completely for the first time.I so hated it!
But one day at a college party all the guys started to rock and roll for this song that's when i thought it isn't as bad as i had thought earlier. Then finally i realized that its the beat of the song that's capturing the young minds and also the funny dance steps. Oh i am 20 btw!
I really love how you penned the entirety in a few words. Great job!

I agree with your proposal of conducting survey as you have contemplated.
Yea, its the beat of the song that's capturing the young minds and also the funny dance steps.I guess the beat has some kind of compatibility with human nature. Some experts may explain more eloquently.
I adore your wonderful review.
Thanks for the precious contributions.
It certainly is very popular. I went to a wedding a few weeks ago, and they packed the dance floor when this song came on. Seems that all the younger people knew the dance steps!

In fact, the younger ones are early adopters of new things.
However,I studied for a couple of days to find that people liked it without knowing the meaning of the lyrics.Perhaps they never thought about the lyrics at all. They were spell bound by the magic of the music of it.We may explain the same way why the western music or Indian music became popular in foreign lands. The appeal of music is universal and defies frontiers.
Thank you Lorena for the admiring review and nice contribution.
Gangnam has stirred the social norm indeed!! Have heard this tune played in almost every night club I've been in the past few weeks. This Korean Man has started a new wave of multi-cultural acceptance!! As much as I hate that song and the dance, but there is something about this Style!!
Nice work Zainul!!!!!!

That is Gangnam for you. I believe what contributes to his success is the herd mentality of today's connected internet society. It's the snowball effect, like I said I got educated by one of my mates about Gangnam and only then I searched for the video on YouTube. it's so much out there that you cannot avoid it.
Gangnam it's the weirdness in his style I guess no one can miss. As of his night club popularity, guess people from every culture have a good laugh when this tune is on. Not necessarily everyone likes his music or style, but everyone enjoys it. Even though the words are Korean, his catch phrase "Gangnam Style" locks everyone's attention!

You have summed up this dance form that seems to be taking the world at large by a storm!! I must say I don't really understand why but then I am not really one of the younger age group and cannot explain why it is so popular!! It is somewhat amusing, but certainly does not overly impress me!! I, as Michael has said in his review, remember the dance crazes of my time - The Twist, The Chubby Checker, and others and why were they so popular? They were fun is all I can say! So, perhaps this style of presentation is just merely another way for young people to have fun!
He is just "psych" fun!

I watched the video and studied articles on Gangnam Style with my children for the last couple of days.I was wondering why it became so popular. But,I haven't found any answer yet.
Interestingly,a 4 year old kid entered from my neighbor's residence and and watched the video being played in my PC.The kid stopped there and declined to leave the place with his parent. When I asked if he watched it before,he told that he watched it in their TV many times.
My observation is advertising influence us to buy things or entertainment products. In this case too, media campaign is being done with very subtle and intelligent ways.
Thanks again for the precious contributions.
I've seen the dance and the music video, and I wasn't at all impressed. Your poem does speak to the nature of what the song has done to the status quo artistically and musically, but for me, the song and dance is not the best.
Your words, though, are quite good and spot on as always.
