A firefly became the moon

She captured a firefly tonight
It looked very cool and bright

The firefly was not happy
It tried hard to be free

It did not want any fight
But,moved left and right

It became successful soon
It flew to the sky to be the moon

This is brilliant! And yet so simple! I'm amazed at your ability to make something so simple into a poem that brings back memories of me and my friends catching fireflies :) but now I feel a bit guilty because u never thought about the fire fly haha well done an amazing read :)

I enjoy an imaginative world where fireflies dance around us with cool
light allowing us to remember our sportive life in the past.
We can still help the fireflies glow happily by simply keeping their habitat safe.

i love the imagery, of the innocence of a young girl's fascination of a glowing firefly, very clever in how you described the desperation
this poor firefly feels at that moment, yet is very persistent enough to fly away, into the darkened night. very witty, fun, enjoyable read, thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the very inspiring review and precious compliments.Yes , the firefly would die if it stayed in the grip of the young girl.So, it had to find a way to escape.Knowing very well that it was no match to fight against the human, it resorted to intelligence and finally it was rewarded as pointed out in the poem.

I adore your lovely expression that has been written from the stand point of a victim of human caprice.We can remember the story of a group of frogs which were attacked by some boys.The boys threw stones to the frogs of the pond.When the boys were asked why they were throwing stones on the innocent frogs,the boys replied that they were playing games.Alas,what was a game to the boys was actually death to the frogs!

thank you and i as well, adore your beautiful, insightful writings. sadly, i am not surprised by that "game" those boys "innocently" were playing and their response. those poor frogs, i happen to like frogs, they're kind of cute! humans can indeed evoke such cruelty to each other and nature, nature's creatures, it truly saddens me. but on a lighter note, again i found your poem very enchanting and light heart-ed. sorta brings me back to childhood, though i would be afraid of touching/capturing any insects. i'm even afraid of butterflies! lol

Really,this was one determined little firefly.
It also had great desire to get rid of of human grip.
It applied its wit and tactics to slip away and fly to the sky.
