Forest Calls MeA Poem by zainulI am indifferent to the frantic calls of forestForest calls me again and again.
Forest tells me to feel her pain. Feller cuts trees like slayer. He does not give heed to her prayer. Birds and butterflies flutter in fear. Ferns and flowers shed their tear. All other wildlife cry for life. Cruel feller growls with knife. Forest calls me day and night. Forest cries to see her plight. I pretend to be busy over greater task. Nobody knows me under my mask. I give lecture and write against felling, People get charmed by story telling. They give awards for my deed! They chant slogans to inspire my bid! Poor forest calls me again and again. Her frantic calls die in vain. © 2012 zainulFeatured Review
