Forest calls me again and again. Forest tells me to feel her pain.
Feller cuts trees like slayer. He does not give heed to her prayer. Birds and butterflies flutter in fear. Ferns and flowers shed their tear. All other wildlife cry for life. Cruel feller growls with knife.
Forest calls me day and night. Forest cries to see her plight.
I pretend to be busy over greater task. Nobody knows me under my mask. I give lecture and write against felling, People get charmed by story telling. They give awards for my deed! They chant slogans to inspire my bid!
Poor forest calls me again and again. Her frantic calls die in vain.
I must agree with C.P. below. This really got my attention, because I love and have a great appreciation for nature. We are all energetic beings, even what would seem inanimate. But people have long lost their balance, how to give with one hand and take with another rather than just take with both. Thank you for sharing awareness and prompting mindfulness.

Let's try together to build a strong community of proactive people who will not provide lip service only. They will strive to follow our good forefathers to conserve nature in practice too.
hi zainul, a very heartfelt poem, & my sentiments too.
as i said in my own tree poem..... everyone & your friends have to write in, petition, complain All The Time, & that eventually brings about a change in building & land-clearing legislation.

I have heard this voice you write of.... I had such pain watching a mountain getting carved into for homes... it was awful...I was at a outside party & no one noticed the permanent destruction going on... I know that probably sounds strange...but it is what your poem brought to mind...I have never forgotten & your poem captures it ...
Thanks for sharing the pain in your heart watching a mountain getting carved into for homes.

Yes,my piece emerged in response to such cruelty done to elements of
nature.Such cruelty will hurt us back as boomerang.
Thank you for raising the point.
May be generous peoples in the leadership and management will find it soon and take corrective measures.
I like how it starts off as potentially self-righteous, but the author admits to turning a blind eye. The flow is a little off but I like the idea.

I imagine a safe forest for the wildlife like rabbit, butterfly and the like.
I adore your kind support.
This is perfectly lovely, and a great message...you remind us of all the surrounding bounties that nature has to share with us and our misguided deeds.
'He does not give heed to her prayer.
Birds and butterflies flutter in fear.'
That line really hits home...thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and much needed message.
