Lovely write! Funny and witty at the same time.. Children have these moments don't they - they are suddenly curious about the spectacles you are wearing.. the next moment you give them a toy and they get busy with it... I must say you do have a great insight of poetry! It can be very difficult to write a children's poem! Nice write.

The slightly risque Hoagy Carmichael song Katy Did and Katy Didn't is, as suggested, a strange thing to hear given the innocent child-like setting suggested by 'lovely flowers' and 'soft grasses' (a really delightful stanza). There may be a suggestion of cultural invasion, popular Hollywood fare being played on the radio in your home country. Someone who hears this song for the first time might be presented with a big cultural knot to unravel.
Thank you John for the wonderful suggestion.

I would not know that such famous songs existed if I didn't write the piece.
I meant it especially for children.
Older peoples might also have passion surrounding this insect or critter.
Since the song was written long ago (1941),I would like to paste the lyrics here so that everybody can read it.
I gratefully acknowledge the source:http://lyricsplayground.com/alpha/songs/k/katydidkatydidnt.shtml
KATY DID, KATY DIDN'T >From the film "Mr. Bug Goes To Town" (1941) (Hoagy Carmichael / Frank Loesser) The Four Marshals, Stan Freed & Pauline Loth (Film Soundtrack) - 1941 George Formby - 1942 There's a burning, burning question, concerning Katy Brown And there's a bit of a suggestion on the way they talk in town Who came to Sunday school with cherries on her lids Katy did, (Katy didn't,) Katy did, (Katy didn't) Katy did, (Katy didn't), Oh, she did And who kissed the banker's boy and ran away and hid Katy did, (Katy didn't), Katy did, (Katy didn't) Katy did, (Katy didn't), Oh, she did Gracious what a scandal, every other girl would cry She can't hold a candle to somebody such as I But who got the banker's boy and fifty thousand quid Katy did, (Katy didn't), Katy did, (Katy didn't) You can bet your life she did And who made the football team break training in the spring Katy did, (Katy didn't), Katy did, (Katy didn't) Katy did, (Katy didn't), Katy didn’t do a thing And who dubbed the candy man for candy all the time Katy did, (Katy didn't), Katy did, (no she didn't) (She did), She didn't need a dime Gracious ain't it awful, all the other girls would wail Really it's unlawful why she ought to go to jail But who got the banker's boy, the tall and handsome kid Katy did, (Katy didn't), Katy did, (Katy didn't) You can bet your life she did Now who plays the clarinet and makes the darned thing wail And who blows the trombone and he tells a woeful tale Gracious ain't it awful, all the other band boys shout He can't blow his trumpet now it's time to throw him out And who plays the uke and nearly busted all his strings (Georgie did), Georgie didn't, (Georgie did), No I didn't You can bet your life he did TRIVIA: The above lyrics were transcribed from the George Formby recording, so they will probably vary from the lyrics as originally written for the film "Mr. Bug Goes To Town" (aka "Hoppity Goes To Town").
