Katy Did and Katy Didn't

I wish someone opens the knot of "Katy Did and Katy Didn't "

Katy Did and Katy  Didn't,
Heard the cool song the air brought.

Looked near and looked far,
I could not see any singer.

Checked the green trees,
Checked the lovely flowers.
Checked the soft grasses,
Checked the lofty bowers.

Some angels were around I thought,
To sing,"Katy Did and Katy  Didn't".

Why they sing such strange thing?
Who knows its hidden meaning?

I wish someone comes and opens the knot,
Who sings, "Katy Did and Katy  Didn't".

Lovely write! Funny and witty at the same time.. Children have these moments don't they - they are suddenly curious about the spectacles you are wearing.. the next moment you give them a toy and they get busy with it... I must say you do have a great insight of poetry! It can be very difficult to write a children's poem! Nice write.

However, both have distinctive calls or songs.

Nice, I always thought katydid was the coolest name ever for a bug! It also reminds me of that Steely Dan album, "Katy Lied"...

"Heard the cool song the air brought."- heard should be "hear"

"Why they sing such strange thing?"- you are missing something in that line or you need to take out the "they". it should read:
Why sing such a strange thing?
OR
Why would they sing such a strange thing?

I wish someone would come and open the knot
OR
I wish for someone to come and open the knot.

cute concept. I like it, you need a wee bit of work, but the meaning is clear and I tend to like it.
