very nice n humane composition. people are ready to watch a semi-naked or even naked body in public but feeding a hungry baby if brings criticism, we ought to stand against it. lust of grown can be held down but holding down a hungry baby- A BIG NO. It has a right to live and food, a food that is natural and most appropriate and pure.

This is divine milk and the baby has the exclusive right to enjoy it for survival and good health.
Similarly a mother has the right to feed her baby the divine thing.
I adore your lovely gesture,dear friend. :)

next thing you know there will be crowds of morons picketing a bee hive because the bees stingers are showing...surely that is blatantly obscene...i mean, how dare she use her breasts as they were intended by nature! she should be flogged and then drawn and quartered for behaving like a shameful w***e. then we can punish her family based solely on their choice of diet and their religious affiliation...
sometimes people make me so damned angry with their tiny little minds...this poem is excellent..it makes a valid point , redressing the whole issue of breastfeeding
I breastfed all of my children in public - not overtly so - but I never had anyone comment. if people looked at me I simply stared back until they looked away. I have to say i encountered very few problems but I had many friends who were made to feel awkward. By my third child I didn't have time to care about peoples' sensitivities - I could make a cup of tea and answer the door to recieve mail all whilst breastfeeding I have never understood why people find it in anyway wrong. Good poem - keep up the fight for the right to feed our children :)
Need to leave the mommy alone. People who are offended by the the feeding of a baby. Need to look away and be quiet. You said a lot in the three lines. A outstanding poem.

Thanks for the great review and lovely comment.
I also thought it a funny thing when I knew the event from a local newspaper. But ,when I searched in the net and read the treasure of information lying there,I was amazed and inspired to write this poem.
Hope you will involve yourself in such humane mission.
This wonderful little poem sparked a lot of response and rightfully so. We have some many condictory norms in our "modern" society. What could be more natural than watching a mother breast feed her child? It is a sight that for me creates a beautiful sense of calming serenity. We should nurture our children but not in public? What a crazy notion. Thank you for your poem and for providing a small forum for discussion.

I could not think that a forum will be formed here too like the one in facebook.
I realize that there are many conscientious people everywhere.
We still have hope.
