Yes, I know haiku follows a 5-7-5 pattern but I find haikus in English don't strictly adhere to it. This one is a tribute to all my teachers, for dedicating their lives to making better people out of us ignorant kids. (It's Teacher's Day here in India!)
So is it utter rubbish? Or "not bad for a novice" level? Do tell me!

Awwh, such a nice tribute to your teachers! Not a lot of people thank or be grateful for teachers, instead they run over them and give them headaches. Honestly, teachers don't make enough money for how they get treated constantly. That's my opinion of course though! They do give us the best gift yet--turning into brilliant young adults and making us into "something" when we get out into the real world. Some of the students at my school might not realize that now, but they will either sooner or later. You done an excellent job for this being your first haiku!:)) Don't worry about the pattern not matching because a lot of people usually don't follow the poetry rules!.... I might not sometimes ;) Good job, again!!

And about rules... well, they are made to be broken, like pie crusts. :D

I love writing, I honestly do. But if I had a school assignment to write about myself, it would definitely be the one with a big red F on it.
