Once Upon a time

In the early age of the planet Nuien, A place where peace was always there except for small disagreements that did not lead to any wars, but the discovery of magic changed that.

Many countries that have developed and studied magic started getting thirsty with power, wanting to learn more about magic they used that power to invade neighboring countries to monopolize on the knowledge and spells that they had.

And those countries with peaceful intents and supportive spells were wiped out because most spells created were meant for destruction and not for peaceful intents. 

And so the war of the 5 continents started, many have sacrificed their lives and the war went on for five decades until the population of Nuien was reduced by thirty percent.

And so realizing how much suffering this war had produced a peace treaty was put in place. Twenty years later in the city of Kendra is said to have flourished the most due to its location in the middle continent Ryund. 

Ryund is special because all of the countries in it have signed peace treaties that would allow free trade and exchanging knowledge about spells.

Robb was living in Kendra in that time and as he was dreaming he started hearing a voice in his head. 

"Help Me" , "Save me" , "Des-"  The voice said.

Robb wakes up.

"Ugh What was that all about, such a weird dream"  he thought to himself.

While getting up from his bed, still confused about the dream he dreamt, "Who exactly was that" he thought to himself.

Falling on his back by stumbling on all the scattered books and papers for the research he has been doing on magic. 

"Ouch" he screamed while on the floor, "Another day and more spells to discover" he thought to himself. while grabbing the nearest book on his right side, A book that spoke about the history of magic.

Magic was discovered 300 hundred years ago when artifacts alien from this world were discovered in the western continent Kyum by the first known magician Khren. And no one has been able to figure out the origin of it and how the symbols that make it came to be. 

Robb was born without any Affinity to  magic, and in this world where having no powers guarantees almost no future as those with magic can do tasks more efficiently and effectively. 

But affinity to magic differs from one person to another, while some are born with very high affinity would have the ability to cast multiple spells at a time and then people without affinity such as Robb can't cast any magic.

And through the 300 years, continuous studies have been going to understand how affinity works, and if there is any way to increase or even change it but with no success whatsoever in changing ones affinity.

But through these experiments, Enchanted paper, called Ep for short was created.

Ep is a special kind of paper that has the ability to produce spells that are written on it, it was created when a great magician by the name of Cydin created a spell that could apply the same amount of affinity to an inanimate object.

But if the same spell was used on a living creature, it caused paralysation to that creature.

And now, Robb's only option now is to study how spells work and how they came to be.

Spells are not entirely different from chemistry and chemicals, they are symbols that if mixed in a certain way, will produce amazing results.

Casting spells is simply reciting the name of the symbols and imagining them taking a physical form, and once they do take a physical form in ones imagination, the spell become real. 

Although it isn't always safe, if mixed in a wrong way the spell can cause permanent damage to the user as in the case of the Ep spell being used on a person.

Though Ep are very expensive and are inconvenient to use for normal people due to the time it takes to cast a spell. But for people like Robb it is their only way to cast magic.

"Master Robb" A voice through the door said

"Your Mother is waiting for you"

"Ugh, what does she want now"  Robb answered back.

"She wants you to see her and your father off. They will be going on a trip for three weeks today on an emergency meeting" The voice replied.

Robb never had a good relationship with his mother, she has always detested and shunned him, he knew it was because of his inability to become a magician.

Especially when he is from a family of nobility, one of the first families to produce an Archmage and the first to produce a Wizard, the highest class of magicians. The magicians in this world can be decided to 5 classes. 

Novice, Amateur, Intermediate, Experienced, Arch. and those gifted enough can become Wizards although this has only happened once in history. by the man named Xairox.

Xairox happens to be an ancestor of Robb and one of his motivations to learn more about magic.

As he gets up from the floor, he uses his favorite book "RE" as a base for him to get up. While looking at the mirror he tries to do his black Hair, Robb has an average build,height and average looks. nothing special about him except for his love of studying.

"Alright give me a second" He replied as he found his uniform to put on.

He opened the door to find Emma the house maid waiting for him to accompany him. 

"Good Morning Master" she said

"Good morning my a*s" he replied

"What's good about seeing mother this early in the day"

"Master! You should not speak ill of your mother" she answered putting her hand on her mouth while being flustered.

"Yeh Yeh" he dismissively replied.

Going down the stairs, Visions started flooding to his head. 

"Didn't my parent already leave" he thought to himself. 

and while these visions kept coming to him his head started Hurting him, The pain was so unbearable he fell to his knees, closed his eyes and started hitting his head. 

"MASTER!! What is wrong?" The maid said with a very Worried Voice

"Don't worry" Robb Replied with a voice that did not feel as his own.

The voice was the same tone and sound, but it felt thunderous. Emma, the maid thought to herself.

"So this is the human who summoned me, Interesting, seems like most of his Affinity has been sealed. and according to the spell i can only control his body 5 minutes a day for now."

"Master if you are not feeling well i can tell the lady that you send your regards" the maid said

"How convenient" Robb thought to himself

"Yes please tell her that i will be resting, can you take me back to my room now" Robb Replied.

"Yes Master" She replied

As they got back to Robb's room, and she left him alone, Robb Thought to himself "I guess he doesn't really need to know about me yet" Feeling the control he had fading "Time to go back to sleep i guess" 

Robb Opened his eyes to realize he is back in his room. With visions of what's to happen going through his mind, confused and shocked he started going through his papers, as he finally realised, his spell, it worked.
