Remember gazing at the emblematic leaves on fire falling on to the Kashmir earth

The iconic chinar trees spreading out its long fingered branches pulsating across the meadows

Remember as I laid on the burning petals, the chirping birds sing to the rhythm of the dancing hues of the maple leaves

Running towards the shikaras sailing across the turquoise blue lakes glimmering under the setting sun

The emerging night coloured by the Harud’s leaves on fire

The radiance of the glowing petals sparkling in a frenzy of red, mauve, amber and yellow marks the harud of Kashmir

Yearn to awe at the changing hues and swirling leaves in the day and to follow the ruddy glow of the leaves on fire glowing under the dark night.
