Shadows

Awaiting to catch the glimpse of the morning sunrise

Outside my mist covered window

Counting the sparkling stars in the pitch dark night

I do not count the stars anymore, nor, feel the warmth of the morning sun

Except drench my pillow with tears

Loneliness lingering within my soul

Regrets suffocating my soul like metal chains

Rejection shattering my strength to pieces

Dreams shrieking at the back of the head

Chasing these shadows beyond my reach and losing them to nightmares

 The gripping fear that everything around has turned futile

Yearning to throw my heart across the bars and to believe my soul to follow it

A pinch of hope lies deep within

One day the shadows would vanish in to thin air and I could to fly across the skies, free as a bird
