ReplayA Story by HyoriA short, concise story I wrote. A boy is desperate to get a girl back in his life again, but she isn't quick to acquiesce."Hana, please go out with me again. Just once," I begged, matching her stride for stride as she attempted to walk away from me Ignoring me, Hana stared straight ahead as she walk through the crowded streets. I struggled to keep up with her as she floated through the crowds. "Please?" I asked again, leaping in front of her as soon as there was a break in the bustling crowds. "Why? Go ask some other girl and leave me alone," she hissed as she tried to increase her speed. However, my long legs could keep up with hers easily. "Because you're so pretty," I replied. She looked away, and I hoped that she was trying to hide a smile. To you, this love is just one moment, one feeling. But no matter what, this is my life's everything. "Is it because of my age?" I asked again. "I'm only a year younger." "Yes. But a whole year..." I frowned, and my whimsical nature suddenly turned serious. "Don't you remember the last time we went out?" I probed. She didn't answer. "I go crazy looking at you," I said softly, stepping in front of her to look into her eyes. To my frustration, she only turned her head away, and pushed past me again. The gesture hurt me, like a knife in the back. Memories swipe at my heart. It hurts - when will my feelings ever by fixed? "Hana..." "I want to go out with somebody who'll stay with me, and love me. Not someone who just wants to take me out on dates," she spat as she quickened her pace, walking - almost running - away from me. I didn't bother chasing after her, my mind too full of unanswerable questions. It's such a waste. I've given my love to you at such a young age. How can you not accept it? Dark, thunderclouds began to form overhead as I stood on the crowded street, surrounded by others who barely gave me a second glance as I drowned in my thoughts of sorrow. Have you even seen sincere love? Because I love you I shuddered violently from the cold North wind that blew past me. As if on cue, I sprang into a run, sprinting after the girl. "Hana!" I called, once I caught sight of her white blouse and sleek black hair, her curls bouncing as she walked. Startled, she spun around as I raced to her. I gripped her arms as I stopped, nearly toppling over her. "Hana, please," I begged. My arms were shivering. I wasn't sure if they were shivering from the cold or shaking from my emotions. "Leave me alone." Her eyes were a hardened hazel, unwavering as she stared me down. "I'm not joking this time. I love you," I whispered, bending over so that my eyes were level with hers. "No you don't." She narrowed her eyes as mine widened in surprise. How can you not accept my love? "I've seen the way you look at the other girls," she continued with vengeance. "You've never looked at me the same way." "Then look at me now," I insisted. "What are my eyes telling you?" Frightened, she did as I said, and looked waveringly into my eyes. "I want a replay," I whispered, leaning my face closer to hers. "I need a replay of what happened before." Tilting my head slightly to the right, I slowly brought my lips within a centimeter of hers, and paused there. She didn't pull away or object as I pressed my lips against hers. © 2009 HyoriAuthor's Note
