True Grit

True Grit

A Poem by Z.A. Cox
"

This is an original song by the band I do vocals for. Sell the Kids.

"
VERSE 1
She's bound to him by a life.
That doesn't mean I can't be a part of hers.
He's driven by his spite
Straight past the girl that he used to hold.

But I wont give up after no amount of time.
So just keep shouting your overused lies.
Yell scream give it all you got.
It only makes you look like a child.

VERSE 2
This is getting to old to quick for me
Not her just you. Your bullshit
And selfish plea's.
I wish you'd understand that
She's not listening.
So get your emo girlfriend to cut you free.

Chorus
Hit me, go ahead, satisfy your pride.
She's not a piece of property and I've got lots of time.
I wont give up once I've set my sites
Unless I'm asked by her to get out of her life.

VERSE 3
I didn't realize that me caring for her
Would turn into the next Twilight.
But that's just what you need.
That's just what you want.
A teenage drama life that you can go and flaunt.

Chorus
Hit me, go ahead, satisfy your pride.
She's not a piece of property and I've got lots of time.
I wont give up once I've set my sites
Unless I'm asked by her to get out of her life.

BREAKDOWN
Look at you now.
You said that you could take it.
But all you've got to claim is a
Jumpsuit and a cotton blanket.
I'm so sorry. I forgot.
You wear your heart on your sleeve
Mr. Big Shot.
