BATTERED BRAINS,GALORE! (Deformity and Decay)

A Poem by Zack Valenta

In the absence of light I am a monster
A convulsing entity of horror and insanity
Dive into the fabric of my mind's soul and tremble destructively

You cannot shake off the dripping spiders on and under your skin
Your sickly, ending heart, shuttering under any apparent glow
How cowardly and cadaverous you are now
Tainted by the realism

You realize now your insignificance
Pounding your temples with the balls of your fists
Screaming at the walls
Attempting to quiet the new arrivals whispering in your ears

You're worthless
Disgusting, you feel
That no one loves your spirit
SHUT UP

Never ending
Sleepless
and constantly devolving brain matter

Your two friends on either side
Razors and cigarettes
These smiling demons have started deformity expedition
You now decay

In the absence of light I am a violent spawn
Ready to die
Ready to destroy this body by my own hand

Drag it
Drag the weapon of destruction passively
and with a smile on your face

Finish the unfinished
Sniff and drink like you are unable to be cured or quenched
Fix this reality for damnation
A eulogy for those manically depressed
