Sanctuary and SedationA Poem by Zach Lape
Lauren your worries, your pain and your strife,
it shatters my heart to know them, I would breath into you, with new life, if it were I could destroy them, I only wish you could forego this pain my love, this plague that haunts you so. Your innumerable worries keep your mind occupied to the point of restless slumber. If it were up to me, I would wrench these worries from your beautiful mind, cast them aside, out of site. Then pull you close, our bodies together, hold you close with all my might; but alas my dear, it is not for me to hold this power to expel these pains. Yet if one thing I know my love, it is this, As your bones ache, your hands they tremble, your very body does shake, I'll remain here, holding your hand so tight, not a moments rest I would take, embraced so close we hear our hearts beat together, to shield you from your worlds dreary weather; clear the clouds from your mind, tear the thunder from your bones, pour out the worries from your life, bring you to a place we could call home, not a moment would pass where you'd leave my side, and from this accursed wretched world we would hide, of this sanctuary I would give you a taste, so every dawn I could see your gorgeous face. © 2013 Zach Lape |
