Of Amber, and GreenA Poem by Zach LapeA poem of eyes.
Your eyes so textured, layered with your personality...
Riddled with worries spotted with fears, stitched with conviction, the seams torn by tears- Laced with aggression Embraced by perfection, Yet, they are only a reflection... of your inner being, in its purest form, your heart your soul, your mind's very storm, portraying your thoughts, you cannot disguise, these gems, such pristine, entrancing amber eyes... - Zach Lape And so of the eyes it is there you'd see The windows to the soul The secret sides of me And falling into yours This spinning flame did shine A glaze of sadness laces with hope And secrets within his mind And everchanging This secret soul does do From light to dark Every shade of green it's true And in them I see Just who you are The guaranteed truth Within these stars In them I find An undying spirit A determined mind In them I see A lost heart so kind But as you do know As I've told you so well That since the first day It was your eyes and the story they'd tell That dying to know you This writer meeting a book Wanted to fix you And so our hearts we took And this green of your eyes It is not lust nor envy Neither of such sins It is the green of calm oceans The spinning the mist For in your sight Yes I do see Every move every word Just what you mean to me And my favorite look It's that pensive stare we share Locking eyes alone Saying I love you beyond compare So as amber and green Oh how they once met The most special of eyes But never to forget - Lauren N.
