AloneA Poem by Zach LapeOf my darker poetry, a desperate, tragic poem of demise and ultimately death.
A breeze... It bites your skin as you cringe in distaste,
chilled bones.... you beg for death with great haste, Frost knows no bounds as it seeps through your very core, your blood curses you for this arctic hell, you feel, you fear, your fright, you may feel nevermore, your soul ripped from body, but a shell, your emaciated hands wreathed in black, you've seen there is no turning back... your eyes turn to the sky, hoping for a last ray of sunlight, to be greeted with but a looming oblivion, your demise, your frigid crypt itself, in its obsidian dismal depths, it seems time itself will not move through this ice, your hearts been shaken, your souls been taken, you'll shall not awaken this dawn, into hades you've followed, your bodies been hollowed, all that once was, now gone... no comfort wrought upon you, no companion by your side, the snow now engraves you, into the ground you will hide, the last kiss you will feel, of this bitter nights sorrow, the chill of these lips unreal, you shan't see tomorrow, of the glory you had, be wrenched from your mind, this snowy ground now your lofty throne, you execrate this horrid world so unkind, you will die benumbed, wintry.... alone... © 2013 Zach Lape |
