The Bored Game RiskA Poem by Zach KnoxOur relationship was founded on strategic dishonesty For the most part that was fine with me.
I took the fort guns blazing we laid wast spewing forth words that attacked the eyes like mustard gas
feel under foot just so we could keep the metallic taste of jealousy in our mouths
we pass the blame back and forth over dinner while our lovers in denial stand out the window in the depths of winter but the hold on to the time we told them they were of some importance.
my renewed attack; you attacked my back the scratch, the scars, and a fallen tear
we signed a new non aggression pact we both gave repentance
So peace could be attained the anniversary maintained © 2013 Zach Knox |
