Beyond the Valley of Broken Dolls

Beyond the Valley of Broken Dolls

A Poem by Z.Silas

Beyond the Valley of Broken Dolls

she came wondering into town
her soles made not a sound
her soul would drown
in seven flesh pounds
babies breath and royal crown
she had tattered blond hair
skin too pail to be called fair
made up with great care
a smile that said scared
a red dress stained and tared
her song was that of a
sirens call
it would cause pupils to dilate
and hearts to stale
it would sing in men's souls
and ring in their halls
she came from way beyond
the valley of broken dolls

This may be simplistic in analysis, but I thought of the valley of broken dolls being Hollywood and this being about a girl that would become famous in Hollywood, but be broken and stripped of innocence by the celebrity life, hence the line "She came from far beyond the valley of broken dolls." I guess this could be a poem for any little girl who lost her innocence and had it taken. Beautifully woven.
