fire

fire

A Poem by Z.Silas

there's a line of men
waiting to possess
our souls
they take our homes
and they take our gold
they rape our women
and kill our kids
in the name of god
this is what they did
fire in the soul
fire at sea
taking our land
so they can breed
but the only thing
they did was infect
our country with
their seed
in the name of god
for this we bleed

Very descriptive and your words flow....I was taken with this piece as it captured my attention from beginning to end. Human we all are--I wonder if we could remember that or if even realized it back then would it have made a difference in actions?

Very well written.....

It is a no wonder that our nation is in so much moral corruption considering the way it was founded. Good strong write.

If I didn't love turkey dinner so much, I'd never celebrate 'Thanksgiving Day'. Just another one of those history things.... history is always written by the winner, which is how it's taught in school. tsk tsk, I say, let the truth be taught. Maybe our future presidents would slow down a bit, if the real history began to be told.
Nice write, as per usual with you. : )

Beautiful. I've often wondered what gave those men the right to do what they did? Why take such a wonderful race of men and then turn them into them? How cruel and greedy the past of my country. XX

This was a message that was good to convey. I loved it, you did so beautifully.
It hit a string somewhere in my heart, because I have Cherokee Indian in my blood. This was an amazing piece. :)
