God Appreciates The Effort

God Appreciates The Effort

A Poem by Zi

inspiration comes and goes/ written verse/ written prose/
twisted candle/ friendship found/ all we leave/ is wax on the ground/
these past few days/ my life seems small/
I sit at home/ await your call/
/
I cry/ I write/ and try/
with all my might/
to remember your face/ the glasses and brown hair/
as I saw you that night/ as I saw you there/
/
but memories fade/ as wax will melt/
and I wish I had told you/ how I really felt/
now you know/ this is how I feel/
but without you here/ this just isn't real/

This was actually intended to be spoken to a beat, thus the slashes... I wrote it whilst playing bongos.
