Pass me by

Pass me by

A Poem by Zi

What pain more can I hold
When the raging, twisting, winds
Leave me battered and broken
A force of nature, she came to me
Uncertain, unknowing

I was a pillar
Strong, stable, stationary

But all winds pass
Trailing their debris and terrible danger
Leaving pillars behind with no protection
And when the furious storm ends
When the dust settles
When there is quiet
There is loneliness
Emptiness
Pain

Lovely metaphors using nature’s wrath to and its calm to human moods. I loved it. Betty Hermelee
