Old Friend

i lost my friend 7 years ago and i wanted to write a poem about him

Days go by

Your essence still lingers here

But your voice I vaguely remember

Filled with regret and anger

Not only at those who lied to me

But at myself

For letting you leave me after the harsh words I said

I cry knowing bullets pierced your chest

And painfully gasping for air

It’s too late but I want say this now

Good bye old friend
