Suffocation

Suffocation

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Another spontaneous one. Ramblings.

"
I stray away
from every pair of arms
which attempts
to enclose my being.

A picture of a person who is scared to love came to my mind after reading this. The reasons can be many, but when the right person comes along, everything else vanishes - all the fears and darknesses. If you haven’t stumbled upon that person yet, I hope you find him/her soon.
Nice one, Dr. Kay.

My pleasure... Dr.
There must be many names for it . . . I call it commitment-phobia . . . but your description is better becuz it's not just commitment that bugs me, it's a sense of ownership that often goes with it! Your analogy sends this message loud & clear about the arms that entangle! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It is definitely about being treated as an object and some 'thing' to be owned than treated as a per.. read more
I think I would be scared of suffocation. It's getting the balance right Dr Y. That comes with practice. You have to find someone first.

You are welcome x
Your writing inevitably sets a dilemma in careful or could be called, tentative - language, Yumna! You don't direct, you invite. That's a gift. However, you mention 'Being' - not body, there is a most definite difference.

Straight words. Simple but expressive. Partly relatable.
I like brief pieces which have a lot to say (as you know).

Of course. I know.... 🙈
There seems to be a fear of engulfment here. These are the words of one who longs for a relationship while simultaneously being fearful of it. A lose-lose situation.

a loving hug that is mutual is one thing...but being enclosed too tightly, not just the arms but also the heart...
no good...that is definitely suffocating.

So it is... thank you so much for reading and your words, Jacob.

When it comes to arms.. you just can't be too fussy.. I had a woman wrap a bazooka around my neck once while holding a Kalashnikov assault rifle and two spare magazines in the other hand.. Nope you can never be too careful with arms..... :)

you are more than welcome... :)
I take this one in two directions, the first one "Pain", when You are unable to be held by any hands but Your lost love, the second one "Freedom", when You need most Your solitude away from people, anyone or anything that can stop You form growing and achieving, and here I think of the society, the female/male ever ongoing issue, either way, again this is written powerfully with the sincerity of Your deep emotions.
