A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Experimental.

"
Why do you love me, you asked,
and I pondered over your words,
silently memorizing your face,
my mind buzzed, as every possible
reason skipped around to present
a bouquet of thoughts.

Why do you love me, you asked,
and I sat down to write memoirs
but no words came,
and my pen stopped mid-air,
while letters danced...

Why do you love me, you asked,
and I wished, secretly, that
you'd asked how much I love you,
for I would have answered:
"You are my first waking thought...
that's how much I love you."

'Cause for reasons on why do I love you,
my pen seems pathetically dry. ..

How do you tell someone the reason why you love them? Sometimes, words don't really express emotions quite as well as we'd like them to...

I suppose, Doc, you cannot really tell someone how much you love them, better to show them...and it's not always in the big splashy things like flowers or jewelry...but sometimes just the simplest things like a touch on the hand...a smile...a wink now and then to let them know there is still a stirring deep within when you see them.

We deal so much with words it's a surprise when we find words can destroy as well as triumph.

A good write.

yes, this is exactly it. perfectly captured. sometimes the reasons are not clear and it's hard to show in measurements that can be seen, only felt. nice work

Thank you so much for appreciating and your words here. Glad you like it. :)
that is a hard question to answer...the reasons are often in our subconscious...we feel even though we aren't sure where or why those feelings came...but how much?
we seem to measure that somehow....
again, i like the conversational nature of this...
and how the pen can't help us answer the question...
the poet just knows he or she does love.

Very nicely penned.. Good structure and and pleasing thoughts, posing a question which is, indeed, a tough call to answer.
