oh this feeling is so palpable in your write (I might add some of the yesterdays too) rear those ugly heads on my pillow as well! I meditate daily for this reason got to get my alpha waves in some form. Strangely enough this was my experience last night and wasn't very successful catching the waves in meditation today!!!! I guess we both will have to wait for our dreams:( (your parallel line... line made me a little dizzy i envisioned a tightrope walker)

I like that you envisioned it as tightrope walker 'cause that's actually how I imagine life to be to.. read moreI like that you envisioned it as tightrope walker 'cause that's actually how I imagine life to be too - and that's why not everyone excels at it...
Thank you so much for your thoughts here, BB. Truly appreciated.
Parallel lines > keep on walking to where they meet
Forever walking
Like waiting for 'Tomorrow'
But tomorrow never comes there is always another 'Tomorrow' waiting there to beckon you on
Keep on walking towards 'Tomorrow' where the parallel line will meet

Thanks so much for your words here, WR. Appreciated.
i feel this Doc! i have no trouble falling to sleep but usually wake up around 2 AM and have learned that trying to go back to sleep for me then is not going to happen .. but tonight I am going to think of those parallel lines ... running off into infinity and see if i can make them meet ;} maybe in the effort ... i will fall asleep for another few hrs. :))) your poem has the nicest way of presenting the entanglements of time, ones plans and worries ...wrapped up in sticky webs ... of course you can't sleep !!! love those closing two lines ... so powerful yet subtle ... our efforts futile ... we resign ourselves .. but we are marked ... and have learned and will remember by the scar ;) absolutely loved reading and thinking about your poem ... your title drew me .. webs for poetry never gets old eh!?

I like your thoughts here, Einstein. Thank you so much for appreciating. :)
Tossing and turning, no sleep here. Much to ponder on, I get the feeling of many unanswered questions causing a restless night. Your last two lines don't offer much hope that sleep will rescue you. Well written Dr Y.

So they do, sadly...thank you so much for your words here and for liking, Jacob.
A get the vision of someone sleepless, tossing and turning as they try to get to grips with their feelings. I like the way you use the opening stanza to ask a question as it draws the reader. The whole peice feels sombre and sad and forlorn.
