Monochromatic

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Ramblings of a tired mind.

"

Everything mocks me,
the sameness of time lingers upon the air,
just lightly signifying its presence,
and crucial things take a backseat, as I look
through the backview mirror of
my monochromatic life.
One year slips, silkily smooth, into the next;
numbers are what have changed,
and January is just another month
to pass-by; a blurry haze in which
we're caught up...
everything mocks me.

Ah I should be being inspirational and say soothing like "no no! It's just a phase" but I've got nothing. Sometimes I'm like one of those machines that spit out fortune cookie papers and you have to hit me a couple if times so I can work again. You know, like *BAM BAM* "Give me my darned paper!!!" I dunno why that works... That's like my school vending machine, you have to kick it to get your snack. Haha. Anyyyyyywayyyysss tbh, idk if everything mocks you. I mean, trees can't go "oh, stupid humans" (maybe they do...) but it feels like everyone is watching. The spotlight affect. And sometimes it's like this maze where you go corner to corner and start panicking cuz they're so many walls. Except there's too many people watching. And we run around trying to hide every piece of sensitivity as fast as possible and stumble and look like fools. Like someone just walks in on you naked and you're frantically getting your clothes on. Idk what I'm saying rn. The world mocks us, but it's not really the world; more of our perception/view of the world. So it's real/fantasy. Our heads are weird. And I've gone off on like a million unrelated subjects to this poem. I'll shut up now

Ummm - I get a feeling of pensive sadness, typically with no obvious cause accept the dullness associated with a cold winter's cloudy day. Come the spring, renewal will bring both colour and rebirth of spirit - nice reflective write - loved it... :-)
