I believe without trust. They is no love.
"What is love without trust,
I asked you, but silence rushed by,
amidst heavy breaths, and"
The above lines. Just living above water, waiting to drown. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

Without trust love is doomed. It will die. This is a lovely write Dr Y, Trust is the foundation stone of a relationship. Once gone it may never recover, or if it does it will take much time to build up again. Your second paragraph beautifully expressed.

its fractured...and you spend a lifetime...deciding if the cut is worth picking up the good solid edges...or just leaving them on the floor to splinter more....mirrors are flawed...much like normalcy....trust is within you...not without you. Happy New Year Yumna!

hm interesting ruminations Doc! i like the edge of this happening ...very thick with emotions ... a whole slurry of guilt, deceit, unfaithfulness and deepening sadness knowing trust is gone ;(( ...... "quietening" is quite the word ..i like how its applied to the heart ... as if some other force is involved in it as well as your speaker ... and it forces me to come to a complete stop and savor each syllable ...qui et en ing :)))))
so sad and me heart goes out to your protagonist ... enjoyed second read through even better

You say these are ramblings of a tired mind, but look how beautifully they came out. I feel that I can relate your words and the feelings you have expressed here to recent situations and relationships of my own.
In the silence, issues floated away, dissolved, but not entirely forgotten. And in that time, normalcy took its place again...

I think we do like pretending everything is normal when it really isn't, just for the sake of our sanity, perhaps...
Thank you so much for your words here and for appreciating :)
A perceptive reflection on the uncertainties and confusions of life's encounters... What is love, indeed? More than heavy breaths for sure... but maybe trust is wide and embracing... trust in what? Trust in the moment? Trust that protects? Trust in the promptings of the heart?
You pose the question. I flounder in my answers. Life is so fragile.

Glad it made you think, Jibey. Thank you so much for your thoughts here. :)
This is the ultimate "show instead of tell" way to paint a word portrait of ambivalence. This is the story of my life, being a loner, wavering in my ability to trust people, wavering in my desire to let people in. The word "normalcy" is thought-provoking in this context (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
