Paranoia

Paranoia

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Evening scribbles. Ramblings.

"
There is a gap in my soul,
awfully vibrant, through
which slides everyone
and everything;

the black sticky paws
of an unseen monster
creep slowly forward,
prowling in its wake.

I tilt my head
from side to side,
the blunt edges of
an empty horizon
merge into one...

an optical illusion
and I hallucinate;
my paranoia has
reached its peak.

Within every individual,
I see a monster, lurking..
out there to get me, to
grab me - unwarned.

I look back to see
my own reflection
smiling back grimly;
my shadow grows larger,

with every step I take ...

Life is trickery. We are running to or running away. I liked how you used the shadows. Nice tale of mystery and deep thoughts. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

You have given us some disturbing imagery Dr Y. Quite a frightening read, with that shadow growing ever larger. Well conveyed lines

I truly emphasize with your admitted paranoia, however in my typically flippant manner, I would be inclined to think that Halloween is not your favourite time.
All nicely expressed.

The imagery you used is powerful and frightening, like watching a horror movie but in the form of a poem!

Nicely put. There's a sense of menace throughout. The paranoia takes on a life of its own.

This is an excellent write. I truly enjoyed the images you've included in the poem that offer the reader a better understanding of those who have paranoid tendencies.

Thanks for posting! :)
