Enclosong an Oyster of Hopes ...

I have walked the distance
in unsteady strides,
enclosing an oyster of hopes,
and hues so blurred
it aches my limbs.

I cup my hands
as life sweeps me away
in a tango of emotions;
a whirlwind rumbling
underneath a paranoia of sorts.

"Enclosing an oyster of hopes"...great expression leading into the heart of the poem. I liked the "tango of emotions" as well. When I got to your last line, I misread the word "paranoia" for "piranha". It must be my muse saying its time for a cup of coffee! ; )

This pretty much sums up how life can leave us feeling like we've just jumped into a roiling surf & the waves are batting us about into unexpected positions. I love how you convey the sensations of being tossed around by life (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Hmm. I think creating in that "tired mind", occasionally allows one to be possessed by that true lyrical demon/angel thats buried in our subconscious. You could have rambled on for twenty more stanzas and kept my attention. Good work. CD

What it is to be so bemused that writing poetry seems to come so effortlessly, Yumna!!! For me the two stanzas are mirrorerd refkections , each having that little less or more than before. Unsteady strides.. life sweepts me away.. have to think on that.. so, will return. Perhaps?
